I've been up to a lot lately.....

Red Rock Relay: Loved the views, hated the rain and mud, did great on my runs, really enjoyed the company and the new friends made.

The great people I spent 30 hours with in a car
Painted Pony
Last run: love down hill
we were lucky enough to karaoke in between our run
Zions

My 1st run
Andee killin the hill
Andee's hill she had to climb

My Birthday: I was really confused when I had a place all picked out for dinner and Kyle decided we were going some place different. As I thought about it more it seemed mean that he would pick a different place when it was MY birthday. We arrived at Asian Star; I walked to our table and saw it was full with all my friends. Then it clicked: they were all there because it was my birthday! We ate and had a great time but the night didn't end there, Andee got me a Costco cake so we all went to her house and finished the night up with a big cake and some ice cream. Thanks for a great birthday everyone.

Lake Powell: There were a lot of really great people, some outstanding stories (just ask Corby Hoggan), delicious food, which made for an AMAZING time. There was one small mishap with a boat but everyone survived and made it back to the houseboat safely. I'm just really glad we had a water pumper thing to pump the water out faster than it was coming in and that this mishap happened on a Saturday (a busy day in Lake Powell) so someone and their 12 kids could help us get closer to the dock (not quite to the dock but at least closer).

Glimpse of the years to come

I was lucky enough to watch Kyle's niece and nephews this last weekend as well as run Hobble Creek 1/2 marathon. Both of which were very fun but a little exhausting.......

My favorite moment of babysitting was when Collin (age 4) said, "Do you have any babies?"

I replied, "No"

He then said, "You should buy one."

I said, "Really?"

Brooklyn (Collin's sister age 5) jumped in and said,"Collin, you can't buy a baby you have to grow one in your tummy."

That was that and we just went on coloring and eating our cheese and crackers.

So watch out Janae, Collin may be asking how you grow a baby.

The best part of the race was the first 7 miles shared with the FINISH LINE! It was an awesome race with an amazing view and to make it even better I was able to run the whole thing with Shante. Thanks for your words of encouragement and some great conversation. I would have started walking at mile 10 1/2 without you.

The Evil Black & Red Bug

I really don't like bugs or anything creepy and crawly for that matter. There are these evil red bugs that live by my house and for some reason love attaching themselves all over my car. Sometime two are attached to each other on my car and I might hate that the most.

Here are some of their accomplishments:
  • Made me crawl through my passenger door to get in my car because there were so many on the drivers side

  • They have caused me to forfeit my covered parking spot

  • Stayed on my car from 5700 South all the way to 13400 South (even at freeway speeds)

  • They have even made it down my shirt

Almost every time I get in my car I see one or two crawling around inside my car. I then have to roll down my windows and hope that they make it out on their own or find something in my car to assist them back to their original environment. I just find them really irritating and I'm not sure what their purpose here on Earth even is? So far it seems to just cause an annoyance and to procreate.

I'm getting closer to wanting a dog

Kyle and I were so lucky this weekend, we got to watch his sister's cute little dog. He is adorable and so fun to play with. We were so sad to see him go and we would love to watch him again!

Mothers are Amazing!

I love Mother's Day! I feel so lucky to have my Mom in my life, she amazes me every day. I can't believe all that she does and still is always offering to do anything for me she can. Not a day goes by that I don't think about how blessed I am to have my Mom. She has the sweetest heart, is so thoughtful and generous, and has sacrificed so much for others.
Thanks Mom for being great!

I now have a life!

Thanks to being done with school I feel like I now have my own life back. School stuff isn't always going to be in the back of my mind and it feels great! Now that I'll have time to update by blog I'll have to start doing some fun things. I'm excited to start working on my hobbies and to find some new ones, so any good ideas let me know.
